For the record, my adoration for both Futura and this style of illustration come from the 1960 World Book Encyclopedia I grew up reading.

I ran across that one a few months ago while reading on some massive extinction events. I thought it was a really cool graphic illustration.

Haha. Check out the "text" version on that USGS link. If you ever needed an example of illustrations/graphics as more engaging than text...
