I make a lot of geeky posts, but I don't usually make truly geeky posts like this one.

I built my computer several years back by doing a lot of research and spending about $2000 at newegg.com.

After swapping out a faulty CPU (which took forever for me to diagnose), I have had a blissfully stress-free computing experience.

Then last week after an automatic update, Hellokitchen started bluescreening every other startup. And I wasn't able to rollback the update cause I wasn't able to bootup.

Fortunately, I had foreseen such troubles and stashed two old IDE hard drives inside. (Go Nate from The Past!)

I threw a quickie XP install on a 5GB (it sounds like the early 90s too! clkclkkkkkclkclk) and now I am presented with that cathartic event in every geeks life: The Clean Install

Ah, The Rites of Spring Reinstallation.

XP will fit on 5GB? I thought Windows 2000 alone took at least 6GB.

heheh . . . I remember when you had that old P2 vaio laptop many years ago. I have been lusting over Core 2 duos.

Hardware is soooo cheap these days.
