Lucah was euthanized this morning. His abdomen was filled with pus and he had zero chance of recovery.
I am sending out memorial buttons featuring Lucah's trademark Power Triangle nose to all who donated. Look for them in a few weeks time.
This is the worst thing to ever happen to Emily and I. All I can say is be careful who you trust your children with or you'll end up like us.
The amount of support we continue to recieve shows there is good to be found in people. Thank you all for being there at a point when I really was doubting that. |

That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear this, and I can only imagine how difficult it is for you two. I'm glad you know that your friends love you and support you, and of course you have each other.
I'm really sorry to hear this Nate.
I'm so, so sorry. I know what it's like to lose a pet and I know the heartache involved - and that word isn't strong enough. Please be kind to yourselves.
I'm outraged for you both. And incredibly saddened. Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you, friends. And I'm so, so sorry.
I made my way to subplot's LJ via a friend of a friend.
I know how it is to have huge amounts of vet bills and no pet to show for it. I do hope you will still be open to other people's donations to help you out in this time of need.
Please know that people who you don't even know are heartbroken for you and your kitties and wishing nothing less than the safe return of Comet.
Fingers crossed!!
I am certainly open to donations toward the vet bill, but I don't really feel comfortable asking for it, you know?
As of now, we are at $675 which is all too kind.
I am so sorry for your loss.
I am sorry to hear about the cats, but through all the posts you've failed to actually explain how the negligence led to the cat's illness. Was the cat ill before the sitter or after?
Erm. Not feeding a cat or giving it water for a week (or more) does tend to lead to illness, particularly in the liver and kidneys. And leaving windows open has been known to cause missing cats. Sorry to hijack the thread, natebunnyfield, but the question astounded me so much I had to reply. And I'm really, really sorry this happened to you guys. No cat deserves that sort of horrible thing happening to them, and no cat owners should have to go through this. :( (And sorry about the double-response, but I messed up the tag in my astonishment. Hopefully I got it right this time.)
*hugs*
Losing kitties is never easy :(
All my best to you, that Sam stays well and Comet is found.
*more hugs*
I'm so sorry to hear this. May Comet be found soon. (Got here by way of clevermanka)
I just wanted to let you know that I am a stranger who empathizes. I lost the cat who had been with me for most of my childhood, although she died of complications from what was a benign tumor, not a situation as horrifying as yours.
If you need help finishing to pay the vet bills, et cetera, please let me know where I can Paypal you at. I can only donate $5-$10, but it would make me feel better if you allowed me to do this.
There's nothing that I can write to ease this, but I just wanted to let you know that all us animal lovers out there are feeling for you guys.
You posted before that you were thinking of making buttons. I have a button machine as well as a ton of button making materials. I will happily donate my materials and my time to making buttons for you. All you need to do is provide the printout of what you want on the button. Contact me at jen@sunflower.com if you are interested in my offer.
Yes!!
What size buttons are you able to do?
It will make 2.25 inch buttons with a pin on the back and glossy plastic over the image. I also have the cutter to make circles out of the paper. Contact me by e-mail and we can meet up so I can show you how this thing works. | |
