That first spike (including two 14 posts-in-a-day days) is a freakout as the dotcom bubble bursts and my position is eliminated. I subsequently plan to move from Maryland to California with Lauren.

It's really weird to read stuff from Spring 2002. Just starting art school, totally screwing things up with Lauren...

It's also bizarre to see all these old ljfriends with current icons. Are 1000 pixels worth 1000 words?

The biggest valley (November and December 2003) is from giving up on LJ to help deal with the Athena breakup issues.

The other valley (August 2005) is from doing a three week field camp in Colorado.

The last spike is from moving to Kansas and starting grad school.

I found a seasonal pattern when school is on break. There's a thinning in both the summers and winters.

It all seems more based on major life events than anything. (I definitely include having internet connectivity as a major life event in any geek's like.)

And it would be interesting to do some stuff with 'Current Mood' over time with someone who has used it regularly and long enough.

I used ljbackup_dev, Excel and Photoshop to make this.
