well, there's a $99 512MB and a $149 1GB (1024MB) version. they call it "120 songs" and "240 songs", but that's more marketing than anything.

specifically, mine was US$159.80 (from http://www.apple.com/store/) with free shipping and california tax.


i think i will use it mostly as a removable flash drive to move large files from computer with internet to computer without internet.

I just bought a Mac mini. I got the fast one with a SuperDrive. I'm going to add some ram to it later. I've also ordered a USB KVM switch/USB Hub, so I can use all my peripherals on both my PC and Mac. This might just be the best of all worlds.

I'm curious how the non-Mac keyboards will work with the Mini. The Apple keyboard isn't the same layout or even number of keys as the Windows ones. In particular, standard keyboards don't have the Mac-crucial Command key. In its place is Alt, but the Mac location of Alt/Option is where the "Windows" key is on most keyboards. Not that this can't be remapped, but it's going to make Help files a bitch for new users.
