Heh. A little while ago I started reading that "Pictures of Numbers" blog in your other entry and must have followed the same links as you, because I just ended up at Visual Complexity's image from Citegraph above.

I'm new to blogs on information visualization, but having to deal with lots of data, very often poorly presented, gives me an acute interest in the subject.

I did recently come across this slick method for showing dense vector direction data, something I needed to do at work. This other paper, a comparison of vector visualization techniques, is where I heard about it.
